Provincial Touring

Bringing Alberta Ballet to Communities Across the Province

Donate Now:

Touring is at the heart of Alberta Ballet’s provincial vision.

By bringing Alberta Ballet to more Albertans, we’re ensuring that communities across the province—regardless of geography—can experience the beauty, athleticism, and emotional power of live ballet.

This new initiative was made possible by expanding working weeks for our dancers, allowing the company to tour during summer months when communities are most ready to come together. It’s an essential step toward becoming a ballet company all Albertans can see themselves in—and take pride in calling their own.

Touring Alberta, Powered by a $5.6M Investment

Provincial touring allows us to connect directly with audiences in more remote or underserved areas. These engagements build stronger cultural ties, grow new audiences, and foster a deeper sense of belonging between Alberta Ballet and the people we serve.

Beginning summer of 2026, Alberta Ballet’s goals are to tour to four Alberta communities: Medicine Hat, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, and Drumheller and to perform at select summer festivals across the province.

Each stop includes transportation of artists and crew, accommodation, venue rental, production logistics, and opportunities for community engagement.

Cost per community: $35,000
Annual cost for 4 communities: $280,000
Total goal: $5.6 million to support long-term provincial touring and expanded access across Alberta

Touring isn't just a performance—it's a promise. With your support, we can ensure that people throughout the province experience the wonder of live ballet. Help us make Alberta Ballet a cultural presence in every corner of the province—one stage, one story, one community at a time.
